The mission of the Clayton Farmer's Market is to promote good foods from locally grown producers and regionally branded products that appeal to dedicated Market-goers, support local farmers, spotlight organic items as well as other unique or seasonal specialties, and to educate the public about the preparation of local seasonal food.

As such, all items for sale shall be Missouri/Illinois-made and food-themed products with emphasis on the home-grown, home-made or hand crafted.

The Clayton Farmer's Market is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and we hope you will join us for special events, musical guests and top-tier vendors all season long!

• August 28th | Les Dames d'Escoffier (http://www.ldei.org/) is a worldwide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage and hospitality, and they have a wonderful day planned for the youngest visitors of The Clayton Farmer's Market on the last Saturday in August!

On Saturday, August 28, Les Dames d'Escoffier will offer children and their parents the opportunity to participate in a walking tour of The Clayton Farmer's Market and watch a subsequent cooking demonstration put on by a local culinary school. This event will be an excellent educational opportunity for parents who wish to promote eating locally and supporting sustainability to kids!

Les Dames will host the tour and provide information on nutrition, the advantages of eating locally and supporting sustainability. During the tour, Les Dames will help the children collect a basket of fresh produce, which will be used in a cooking demonstration of easy, fun ways to prepare local, in-season produce. Be sure to join us for this unique event!
